Many of us might be interested in living with intent, of giving purpose to our lives, but we don't know where to start. We think it takes too much time or it's too complicated to fit into our daily routine. Fortunately, setting intentions or manifesting something is in fact a very simple process, and incorporating it into our daily rituals could greatly benefit us.
Sounds good, so how does it work exactly?
Living with intent allows you to create the space to reflect on what you truly want; from life, from this year, or from a specific goal. Knowing what you want, is, of course, the first step to achieving it. Once this is clarified, the thought becomes the precursor to action: positive thoughts shape positive actions, guided by your intentions, and these positive actions in turn can realise your goals.
You might have a new year's resolution to run a marathon or save for that bucket list holiday, and we all need help to gain the momentum to get closer to a goal. Making intention setting part of your daily habits ensures you take time out to focus on what you desire. Not only that, you create space to refocus your attention - away from the never ending to-do lists, or ‘I really should...’ - to this new goal and what steps are needed to get you there.
Change doesn’t always happen through big acts; it often happens through small everyday actions, or daily rituals, that when repeated and built on start to create momentum. There is no right and wrong way to start your personal wellness journey, what matters is the intention and your ability to own it if you get off track.
Setting up your ritual
In this hectic and at times overwhelming world, it is important to make room for calm. It can be enormously beneficial to take time to slow down and focus on a positive frame of mind, and we wanted to create the tools to help you find that calm and spark positive changes.
The intention ritual means setting aside ten minutes to list out things you want to feel, experience and manifest. It’s a moment of stillness and reflection. The moment you set an intention to the candle’s flame, you are putting it out into the Universe. Once the flame has burnt all the way down and self extinguished, remember to finish with words of gratitude to yourself.
Our Intention candle set was created to guide you through this ritual, with small botanical candles that are designed to burn for ten minutes. When you need to create the space to focus on a new goal, or provide time for yourself, this is a beautiful, tangible act of setting sacred time that is not be disturbed. The flame focuses your attention and ignites your senses to manifest what you desire, the entire candle burns down in just 10 minutes and your manifesting is done for the day.
Manifesting our goals will look different for all of us, but we can set ourselves up for a gratifying year by planning ahead. This might look like setting our alarms thirty minutes earlier for a walk or swim, or just 10 minutes earlier for an intention ritual. By making space to manifest our goals, whether they be for the week ahead or the new year, we’ve created moments of intent.
In this way we can start connecting to ourselves, live presently and see how bright our life can be.
